Carnival in Genappe

Description Hide detail

Description

Genappe carnival is a vibrant burst of colour that’s sure to put a smile on your face. The event first took place in 1990! The carnival procession includes around 30 local floats and bands. There is an egg hunt on the Saturday. The procession takes place on the Sunday, with floats, Gilles (clown-like figures in costume) and other folk groups, not forgetting the final rondeau circle dance and evening dance! Monday is devoted to children, and is also the day when the Gilles burn their humps on a bonfire.
